Among the changes to Windows ADK is the renaming of the Windows Imaging and Configuration Designer (ICD) tool. Microsoft is now calling this feature Windows Configuration Designer. Windows 10 users can get this tool in app form from the Windows Store. Those on older Windows builds can install the tool from the Windows ADK. Microsoft has also expanded which Windows versions can support a customized Start Menu and taskbar. Users of Windows 10 Pro will now get this ability, joining Windows 10 Enterprise and Education customers. The latest Windows ADK brings Cortana optimizations for business. Users can now sign in with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and get Cortana access based on their work identity. Microsoft says they get the full Cortana experience that they would get outside of work. Windows Defender has also been given a significant overhaul, with the following changes:

Detection: Enhancements to the detection capabilities Investigation: Enterprise customers can now take advantage of the entire Windows security stack with Windows Defender Antivirus detections and Device Guard blocks being surfaced in the Windows Defender ATP portal. Other capabilities have been added to help you gain a holistic view on investigations. Response: When detecting an attack, security response teams can now take immediate action to contain a breach.

Windows ADK Creators Update

The changelog for the new ADK is extensive, as you would expect with a feature update. Microsoft has also made changes to Windows Hello for businesses. Admins will surely approve of a new feature that lets them reset a forgotten PIN without deleting company managed data or apps. For employees using Windows Phone devices, an admin can reset the PIN remotely through Intune portal. For Windows desktops, users are able to reset a forgotten PIN through Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
