Despite the fact that the app is still unreleased, which means it may be unstable, you can actually find it at the Google Play Store. There, Microsoft and Samsung promote Cortana for Samsung as the app that will integrate the famous voice assistant to your Android device. The fact alone that this app exists could be an indication that Microsoft might be developing a new version of Cortana, optimized for Samsung devices. The unreleased Play Store app is available for Samsung devices which have US-based Google Play accounts. Strangely enough, however, there is no feature difference between this app and the one currently available on Android devices. With that said, it could be possible that Microsoft and Samsung might have a deal to improve the integration of Cortana on Android with a preinstalled version.
What Cortana for Samsung offers
Like we wrote before, there are no differences feature-wise between Cortana for Samsung and the current Cortana app for Android. With Cortana for Samsung, you can bring the voice assistant of Microsoft to your phone to help you keep track of important stuff. Users can set reminders on their PCs to pick something up and Cortana will alert them on their phone. Likewise, if a user misses a call on their phone, the voice assistant will let them know on their PC, or send a reply text for them. Here is what Cortana for Samsung can do:
“Bring your personal assistant to your phone to help you keep track of the important stuff wherever you are, across your devices. Set a reminder on your PC to pick something up at the store and she’ll alert you on your phone when you get there. Miss a call on your phone and she’ll let you know on your PC, and send a reply text for you. If traffic’s a mess and you need to leave early to make that meeting, Cortana’s got your back. If you need to find a fast answer or info on a flight or package, just ask. And Cortana is a truly personal assistant who gets to know you better all the time so she can help track the things you’re passionate about, like your favorite artist or sports team, and give you smarter recommendations.”
